| SEOUL, Nov 19 - South Korea's Finance Ministry said on Wednesday the country would probably post a second consecutive year of trade deficit in 2009 for the first time in 12 years but would manage a current account surplus for the year.
The ministry forecast in a statement exports in 2009 would grow 9 percent from this year and imports rise 8.5 percent, producing an annual trade deficit of around $5.6 billion.
But it said the current account, which is widely expected to set the first deficit in 11 years this year, would return to a surplus of about $5 billion in 2009. |
